Rebels Retreat to Scotland, 1745, copper medal by John Kirk, laureate, armoured and draped bust of George II left, GEORGIUS II D G REX, rev. Truth seated on cloud, holding palm branch and Bible, Hydra of rebellion, with heads representing the Pope, Devil, Pretender, cardinal, bishop and Louis XV, prostrate at her feet, 31mm (Woolf 53:2; MI ii, 608/269; E - [see note to no. 601]). Extremely fine, and rare.
