Phoenicia, Tyre (126/5 B.C. - A.D. 65/6), Silver Shekel. Dated CY 65 = 62/1 B.C. Laureate head of Melqart facing right, rev. KAI AΣYΛOY TYPOY IEPAΣ, eagle standing left on a prow, a palm-branch over its right wing, date EΞ on left above a club, a monogram on right, Phoenician 'beth' between eagle's legs, 14.03g., 12h (BMC 157). Of unusually good style, struck on good metal and extremely fine, a very attractive example.
