Phocas (602-610), gold Solidus, Constantinople, officina A, ON FOCAS PERP ẠVC, crowned bust facing, holding globus cruciger, rev. VICTORI - AAVCC A, angel standing facing, holding linear staff surmounted with tau rho, and globus cruciger, in exergue CONOB, 4.30g, 7h (Sear 618). NGC AU 4/5 2/5 (clipped, brushed, graffito).

Clipped but full weight: in the case of Byzantine solidi, the most likely explanation for this is that the Mint used clipping during production to bring the coin to the correct weight.
