17th Century Token, Lincolnshire, Boston, copper Halfpenny, undated, arms consisting of three crowns vertically, beaded circles and legend surrounding both sides, *A. BOSTON. HALF.PENY. TO. BE, rev. ram on a woolpack, *CHANGED. BY. OVERSERS, weight 1.15g (Norweb 2910; Boyne 10; B.W.15). Toned very fine.

In the Boston Corporation record book of 4th October 1667 it is noted that Mathew Browne ordered to send for £20 worth of brass or copper Halfpence to be made use of, and be current in the borough.
