Oliver Cromwell, Memorial, 1658, silver medal by Jean Dassier, struck in 1731, bust left, OLIVARIUS CROMWELL, rev. monument, inscribed ANGLIÆ. SCO. ET HIB. PROTECTOR, with genii, 38mm, 27.12g (Eimer 203; MI i 435/87; Eisler (1) 265/35). Extremely fine with cabinet tone, rare in silver.
From Dassier's Kings and Queens of England, 1731. Though Dassier included Cromwell in the series his medal is deliberately slightly smaller than those depicting true monarchs.
