Gold Stater, Mint of Amphipolis, struck during lifetime - early posthumous 330-320 B.C., head of Athena wearing a crested Corinthian helmet decorated with a serpent, hair in formal curls, rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Nike standing left carrying trident and wreath, trident head downward in left field, monogram below left wing, 8.5g, 11h (Price 183). Slight trace of possibly previously mounted, otherwise extremely fine.
