Kingdom of Macedon, Alexander III, The Great (336-323 B.C.), Gold Distater. Mint of Amphipolis, c. 330-320 B.C. Head of Athena right, wearing necklace and a crested Corinthian helmet decorated with a serpent, hair in formal curls, rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Nike standing left with open wings holding a wreath and stylis, a kantharos in the left field, 17.18.g, 8h (Price 167; Troxell 531). About extremely fine.
