Lucania, Metapontum (c. 290-280 B.C.), Silver Nomos. Head of Demeter facing left, wearing a barley-wreath, K behind, ΛY below, rev. META, barley-ear, with a leaf on right upon which is a spindle, 7.87g., 12h (Johnston, Class D, 1.4; HN Italy 1612). Lightly toned over lustre, sharply struck and good extremely fine.
