Sir Ralph Abercromby (1734-1810), Silver Tribute Medal of the Highland Society of London to the 42nd Regiment, 1801, by G F Pidgeon, bust right, ABERCROMBIUS DUX IN EGYPTO CECIDIT VICTOR, rev. (after Benjamin West), Highlander with sword drawn, captures the standard of the French Imperial Legion, Gallic legend, plain edge, 49mm (BHM 512; Eimer 932). Cabinet friction to highpoints, otherwise extremely fine with old collection toning. Rare in such good condition.
