Kingdom of Thrace, Lysimachos (323-281 B.C.), Silver Tetradrachm. Mint of Pergamon, struck c. 287/6-282 B.C. Diademed head of Alexander the Great facing right, wearing the horn of Ammon, K below truncation, rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ΛYΣIMAXOY, Athena enthroned left, holding Nike and resting her left elbow on a shield set at her side; behind her rests a spear, N and cultus-statue on left, a crescent in exergue, 17.23g., 12h (Thompson 225; Müller 286). Of beautiful Hellenistic style, this being a superb example of the much admired and highly sought-after "K" issue from Pergamon, well-centred, extremely fine.
