Judaea, Bar Kokhba Revolt (132-135 CE), Silver Sela. Dated year 2 (133/4 CE). Paleo-Hebrew legend ('Simon'), tetrastyle façade of the Temple of Jerusalem, show bread table (or Ark of the Covenant) at centre, with semicircular top and short legs, a star above, rev. Paleo-Hebrew legend ('Year two of the freedom of Israel'), lulav with etrog on left, 13.63g., 12h (Mildenberg 43 (O11/R30); TJC 233; Hendin 1388). An excellent example, well-struck on good metal and with and attractive light tone over lustrous surfaces, extremely fine and rare, Mildenberg cites only eleven specimens.
