John (1199-1216), silver short cross Penny, Rhuddlan Mint Wales, moneyer Halli, facing crowned head with linear collar, hand holding sceptre at left, legend with linear inner and beaded outer border surrounding, commences upper left, hENRICVS. REX, rev. short voided cross pommee, small cross pommee in each angle, +hAL---N. RVLA, weight 1.19g (Mass 2169; N.972/1; S.p.167). Toned, some weaker flat spots in legend with hairlines scratches, otherwise about very fine for issue and scarce.
