James I (1603-25), silver Half-Groat, third coinage (1619-25), crowned rose with beaded circles and legend surrounding, initial mark thistle (1621-23), I: D: G: ROSA SINE SPINA, rev. crowned thistle with beaded circles and legend surrounding, without stops, TVEATVR VNITA DVES, weight 0.85g (N.2127; S.2671). Toned, good very fine.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "James, by the Grace of God, a rose without a thorn" and on the reverse "may God guard these united." in reference to the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
