Ireland, Hiberno Norse Penny Phase II

Ireland, Hiberno-Norse Kings, Phase II (1015-35), silver Penny, draped bust left, two pellets before face, cross behind in field, cruder Sihtric style legend surrounding, rev. long voided cross with tri-crescent ends, pellet at centre, small pellet in each quarter, legend with blundered Dublin mint signature (D&F 23; S.6125). A touch weakly struck on head and corresponding part of reverse, attractively toned, a pleasing very fine, rare.
