Ireland, George III 1805 copper-gilt Halfpenny

Ireland, George III (1760-1820), gilt copper Proof Halfpenny, 1805, laureate and draped bust right, K raised on shoulder of drapery, for engraver C. H. Kuchler, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding both sides, GEORGIUS III. D: G. REX., rev. crowned harp, date below, HIBERBNIA above, edge engrailed, weight 8.79g (DF 599; S.6621). Scratched with heavy hairlining both sides, with some black deposit, otherwise extremely fine and rare.

The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George III, by the grace of God, King" and on the reverse "of Ireland."
