Ireland, Elizabeth I (1558-1603), copper Halfpenny, 1601, quartered shield of arms, E to left, R to right, beaded circles and legend surrounding, initial mark trefoil both sides, ELIZABETH D; G; AN; FR; ET HIB; RE', rev. crowned harp, date either side of bottom, beaded circles and legend surrounding, POSVI. DEV. ADIVTOREM. MEV'., weight 0.90g (DF 257; S.6511). Toned, weak on one portion of strike both sides, otherwise about very fine.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse, "Elizabeth by the grace of God, Queen of England, France and Ireland." and on the reverse as "I have made God my helper" a Psalm from the Bible.
