Ireland, Elizabeth I (1558-1603), fine silver Shilling, 1561, second coinage, crowned bust left, bust 3C, beaded circles and legend surrounding, initial mark harp both sides, ELIZABETH: D'.G.'A'. F'.ET. HIBERNIE. REGI., rev. crowned shield of three Irish harps, date either side, beaded circles and legend surrounding, POSVI: DEVM: ADIVTOREM: MEVM, weight 4.69g (BCW HP-1B/a; DF.247; S.6505). Toned, with some weaknesses, otherwise almost very fine, reverse better and rare.
The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Elizabeth by the grace of God, Queen of England, France and Ireland" and on the reverse "I have made God my helper."
