Ireland, Elizabeth I (1558-1603), First base issue of 1558, 3 oz silver Shilling, crowned bust left, bust 1B, legend surrounding, mint mark rose, ELIZABETH: D: G: ANG; FRA; Z. HIB; REGI., rev. crowned harp, crowned E to left, crowned R to right, legend surrounding, POSVI. DEVM. ADIVTOREM. MEVM., weight 9.29g (BCW RS-2A/a1; DF 240; S 6503). Toned with some light porosity both sides as per usual for this base issue, a bold very fine for issue and very rare this well preserved.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Elizabeth by the Grace of God, Queen of England, France and Ireland"; and on the reverse "I have made God my helper."
