Ireland, Elizabeth I (1558-1603), First base issue of 1558, 3 oz silver Groat, crowned bust left, bust 1F, REG legend surrounding, mint mark rose, ELIZABETH. D: G: ANG; FRA; Z. HIB; REG., rev. crowned harp, crowned E to left, crowned R to right, legend surrounding, POSVI. DEVM. ADIVTOREM. MEVM:, weight 2.89g (BCW RS-1E/a2; DF 245; S 6504). Toned with some light Verdigris both sides, weak in parts almost very fine.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Elizabeth by the Grace of God, Queen of England France and Ireland," and on the reverse "I have made God my Helper" a Psalm from the Bible.
