Ireland, Edward IV Groat, Limerick Mint, light coinage, L on breast

Ireland, Edward IV (1461-83), silver Groat, light coinage (c.1475), Limerick Mint, crowned facing bust within tressure of nine arcs, L on cusp below for Limerick, pierced mullet either side of neck, beaded circles and legend surrounding which are clipped off, rev. cross pattée, tri-pellets in each angle, two quarters with two pellets and pierced cinquefoil, beaded circles and twin concentric legend surrounding, inner legend only present, CIVI TAS* LImI RICI, pierced mullet after TAS, weight 1.54g (DF p.31 note; S.6380A). Toned, outer legend clipped off entirely, otherwise very fine for issue and very rare.
