17th Century Token, Ireland, County Wexford, Wexford, Thomas Low, Penny, 1656, man tending a furnace with bellows beneath a pot still, legend and beaded circles surrounding, THOMAS. LOW., rev. initials L over T M, date below, legend and circles surrounding, OF. WEXFORD *, weight 2.04g (Norweb 6360; Boyne cf.588; BW 753). Some wear on reverse, a bold fine, reverse fair, very rare.

We note that a Thomas Low issued two other tokens in Wexford, a penny with a ship on it dated 1654 and another of the same format as the token offered here but dated 1666.
