Ionia, Smyrna (c. 180-130 B.C.), AE. Magistrate Semagoras. Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rev. ΣMYPNAIΩN / ΣHMAΓOPAΣ, Homer seated left, resting his chin on his hand and holding a scroll, a transverse sceptre behind him, a monogram on left, 7.89g. (BMC 98; SNG Copenhagen 1150). Dark green-brown patina, almost extremely fine, a good example of this interesting issue.
