International Medical Congress, London 1881, specimen Bronze Medal by L. C. Wyon, after J. Tenniel, veiled bust of Victoria left, VICTORIA QUEEN OF GREAT BRITAIN AND IRELAND : EMPRESS OF INDIA rev. figures kneel before Hippocrates who reassures them despite the haunting spectre of Death, INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CONGRES, LONDON JAMES PAGET, PRES. WILLIAM MAC CORMAC, HON. SEC. GEN., in exergue, 1881, 77mm, numbered "623" on edge (BHM 3110; Eimer 1683). Some spotting to obverse, very minor marks to highest points, otherwise extremely fine.

The medal is numbered 623 on the edge and is from the Wyon family's own collection of their work.
