Honorius (AD 393-423), gold Solidus, Constantinople, AD 397-c. 403, D N HONORI-VS P F AVG, helmeted bust three-quarters facing, diademed, draped and cuirassed, spear over shoulder, shield decorated with horseman riding down enemy, rev. CONCORDI AVGG, in exergue COMOB, Constantinopolis enthroned, holding sceptre and Victory on globe, foot on prow, 4.48g, 6h (RIC X, 8). Light die-crack, well struck, extremely fine, scarce.
