Henry Young (c.1738-1811) goldsmith and jeweller, established originally at 9 Fleet Street, after a decade moved east in 1779 to 18 Ludgate Street at the sign of the Star and Garter, just down the hill from St Paul's Cathedral which features on his token. In 1796 he moved to 10 Tavistock Street for a brief period of trade before moving back to Ludgate Hill to a shop three doors down from the previous at number 16. According to contemporary directories, Henry was dealing in coins from at least 1784, and upon his retirement in 1804 from the shop his son Matthew took over.
