Henry VIII gold Half-Angel mm castle

Henry VIII (1509-47), gold Half-Angel of four shillings, first coinage (1509-26), struck in fine gold, St Michael spearing dragon right, Latin legend and beaded border surrounding, initial mark castle (1509-13), saltire stops both sides, hEnRICxxVIII'x DI'xGRA'x REXxAGL Z, rev. quartered shield upon ship, cross above, h to left, rose to right, xxOxx CRVXxx AVExx SPESxx VINICA, weight 2.43g (Schneider 565; N.1761; S.2266). Lightly toned, weak in parts both sides otherwise a bold very fine.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Henry the Eighth by the Grace of God, King of England"; and on the reverse "Hail! O Cross, our only hope."
