Henry VII Groat London, type I, fleur on breast

Henry VII (1485-1509), silver Groat, type I, London, facing crowned bust in double tressure of nine arcs, open crown without arches, fleurs on cusps including one at breast, beaded circle and Latin legend surrounding, initial mark lis upon half a rose (1485-87) both sides, hEnRICx DIx GRAx REXx AnGLx Z FRAnCx, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and twin concentric legend surrounding, inner legend CIVI TAS LOn DOn, outer legend POSVI DEVmxx A DIVTO Ex mEVm, weight 2.96g (SCBI 23: 96/104; N.1703; S.2193). Toned with a couple of rim chips, good very fine and rare.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse, "Henry, by the grace of God, King of England and France." and on the reverse inner legend "City of London" and the outer as "I have made God my helper" a Psalm from the Bible.
