Henry VII (1485-1509),silver Groat, type I, London Mint, facing crowned bust in double tressure of nine arcs, open crown, saltire cross either side of neck, fleurs on cusps, beaded circle and Latin legend surrounding, initial mark rose on obverse only (1487-88), hEnRIC'x DI'x GRA'x REXxx AGL'x Zx FRAnC,rev.long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and twin concentric legend surrounding, inner legend CIVI TAS LOn DOn, outer legend surrounding, xPOSVIx DEVmx A DIVTOR E' mEVm, weight 2.88g (N.1703; S.2194).Toned, rim a little short in parts, die flaw by eye, a bold very fine, rare variety.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse, "Henry, by the grace of God, King of England and France." and on the reverse inner legend "City of London" and the outer as "I have made God my helper" a Psalm from the Bible.
