The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Henry by the Grace of God, King of England and France"; and on the reverse "By Thy cross, save us, O Christ, our Redeemer."
The gold with the pheon mint mark was issued over three to four years and was therefore the largest output of the reign with over £327,000 worth of coinage issued across all the gold denominations.
The Ashmoleon collection only has this legend type with three saltires by nimbus rather than two like we have with this coin.
