The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Henry by the Grace of God, King of England and France"; and on the reverse "By Thy cross, save us, O Christ, our Redeemer."

The gold with the pheon mint mark was issued over three to four years and was therefore the largest output of the reign with over £327,000 worth of coinage issued across all the gold denominations.

The Ashmoleon collection does not have any Henry VII Angels with four saltires by the nimbus though the British Museum has one example from the same dies - E.4870.
