Henry VI gold Noble Annulet issue MS63
Henry VI (1422-61), gold Noble, Tower Mint, Annulet Issue (c.1422-30), King standing in ship holding sword and shield, three whole lis in upper left quarter, ship rigging with two ropes to left, and one rope to right, annulet by sword arm, lis after King's name, small trefoils stops in abbreviated Latin legend h EnRIC+ DI:. GRA':. REX:. AnGL':. Z:. FRAnC':. DnS:. hyB', rev h at centre, ornate cross with lis terminals, crown over lion in angles, all within beaded and linear tressure of eight arcs, annulet in upper right spandrel, large fleurs in other spandrels, initial mark pierced fleur de lis, annulet stops in abbreviated Latin legend +Ih'C*AVT'o TRAnSIEnSo PERo mEDIVmo ILLORV'o IBAT, weight 6.97g (cf.Schneider 282; N.1414; S.1799). Toned with an attractive colour, has been graded and slabbed by NGC as MS63.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Henry by the Grace of God, King of England and France and Lord of Ireland"; and on the reverse "But Jesus, passing through the midst of them, went His way" taken from the Bible.
We note that NGC have graded a total of 38 nobles of the S.1799 variety of the Henry VI Noble, Annulet Issue. Only two of those are graded higher than the MS63 example herewith. For comparison as of beginning of June 2020, PCGS have graded 34 examples of which only three are higher graded than this piece. Therefore of 72 records of coins graded only five are higher in grade making this coin in the top 8.5% of the graded population.
