Henry VI, first reign (1422-61), silver Groat of Fourpence, mule of rosette mascle / pinecone mascle issue (1430-34), Calais Mint, facing crowned bust, within double tressure of nine arcs, fleur on each cusp, beaded circles and legend surrounding, rosette stops with mascle, initial mark cross patonce (1427-34), hEnRIC* DI* GRA* REX<> AnGL* Z' FRAnC, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding, pinecone saltire and mascle stops, VIL <>LAxx CALI SIE&, outer legend initial mark plain cross, POSVI DEVmxx A DIVTOR Ex mEVm, weight 3.39g (N.1446/1461; S.1859/1875). Struck a little short of flan, toned, a bold very fine.

The Latin abbreviated legend translates as "Henry, by the grace of God, King of England and France," and on the reverse "I have made God my helper," a Psalm from the Bible.
