Harthacanute (1035-42), silver Penny, in the name of Canute, Southwark Mint, Moneyer Aelfwig, diademed bust left with arm and sceptre, legend commences at top +CNV. T REEI, rev. pellet at centre of quadrilateral with pellets on apexes, all over short voided cross which meets inner linear circle, legend and outer beaded border surrounding +EL.FPIG ONN SVDEE (N.799; S.1169). Attractively toned, a nice full coin, almost extremely fine and rare this well preserved.
