Hadrian (A.D. 117-138), AE Sestertius. Mint of Rome, struck A.D. 132-4. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, laureate and draped bust facing right, rev. CLEMENTIA AVG COS III P P, S-C, Clementia standing left, holding a patera and a sceptre, 27.76g., 6h (RIC 701; C 224). Some gentle smoothing in fields, an excellent and well-struck portrait on a very broad flan, attractive dark green-brown patina, extremely fine, with a wonderful old pedigree.
