This enigmatic piece is believed to have been struck around the mid-19th Century utilising the reverse dies noted above of Guernsey and St Helena. It was first shown publicly by prominent numismatist Henry Garside when he brought an example to exhibit to the British Numismatic Society meeting of the 25th May 1921 and is recorded in the minutes of that meeting in the British Numismatic Journal volume XVI of 1921-22. Major Pridmore records the piece on page 40 of "The Coins of The British Commonwealth of Nations part 1."
