George VI (1936-52), brass Threepence, 1949, bare head left, initials HP on truncation for designer Thomas Humphrey Paget, Latin legend surrounding GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX FIDEI. DEF., rev. designed by Madge Kitchener, three-headed thrift plant, denomination THREE PENCE above, date below, weight 6.80g (S.4112). One of the key dates of this series, toned with some residual underlying lustre graded and slabbed by NGC as MS64, very rare.

The legends translate across both sides of these denominations as "George the Fifth by the grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
We note as of July 2022 that only one example has graded finer than this piece out of a total of 20 pieces graded. For comparison at PCGS they have graded 25 examples with none higher than this piece.
