George VI 1937 4-coin proof Set, PCGS graded PR63-62, Coronation issue
George VI (1936-52), gold Proof Set of four coins, 1937, Coronation year, gold Five Pounds, Two Pounds, Sovereign and Half-Sovereign, all with bare head of King left, HP raised below for designer Humphrey Paget, legend and outer border surrounding, GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP:, rev. St George and dragon right, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue, all with plain edges (S.PS15). All coins toned with some hairlines, the two pounds with some blemishes on the portrait, the Half-Sovereign with a small edge knock, all have been slabbed and graded by PCGS as Five Pounds PR63 Cameo, Two Pounds PR62 Cameo, Sovereign PR63, Half Sovereign PR63, a pleasing straight graded set.

Mintage 5,501 sets.
The Latin legend on the obverse translates as "George the Sixth, by the grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
These plain edge Proof coins were produced to celebrate the Coronation of King George VI on the 12th May 1937, with a mintage of 5,501 pieces, they were technically patterns as they did not have milled edges.
