We note as of February 2026 that PCGS have graded a total of 506 examples of the 1931 SA Sovereign of which 37 are finer than this piece. For comparison NGC have graded 605 piece of which 61 are finer. This is a total of 1,111 pieces graded with 98 finer.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George the Fifth by the Grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
