George V (1910-36), gold Sovereign, 1928, Pretoria Mint, South Africa, bare head left, B.M. on truncation for engraver Bertram Mackennal, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND: IMP:, rev. St. George and dragon right, WWP under lance, Mint letters SA at centre of ground-line, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge milled (Bentley 925; Kaplan 105; Hill 292; S.4004). A superb example with full mint lustre, graded by NGC as MS65.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George the Fifth by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
