George V (1910-1936), gold Sovereign, 1926-SA, Pretoria mint, the birth year of Queen Elizabeth II, bare head left, BM under truncation for designer Bertram Mackennal, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS V D. G. BRITT: OMN: REX F. D. IND: IMP:, rev. St. George and the Dragon right, mint letters SA on groundline, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge milled, 7.98g (Bentley 923; Kaplan 103; Fr. 5; Marsh 290; S.4004). Generally very fine with some residual lustre, accompanied by Royal mint presentation cover and Certificate of Authenticity.

The Latin legend translates as "George the Fifth by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."

Coins from this year were struck in the colonial mints of Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, though the vast majority came from the Pretoria mint in South Africa.
