George V 1919 Penny MS64RD
George V (1910-36), bronze Penny, 1919, bare head left, with raised BM for Bertram Mackennal on truncation, legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP: rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, denomination in words surrounding, date in exergue (Freeman 185 dies 2+B; S.4051). A few tiny nicks and spots on otherwise nearly full lustre, has been graded and slabbed by NGC as MS64RD.

We note currently that 71 examples of the 1919 Penny have been graded and slabbed by both services of which twelve are technically finer.
The abbreviated Latin legend on the obverse translates as "George V by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
