George V (1910-36), gold Sovereign, 1912, Sydney Mint, Australia, bare head left, B.M. on truncation for engraver Bertram Mackennal, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND: IMP:, rev. St. George slaying dragon with sword, WWP under lance, Mint letter S at centre of ground-line, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue for designer Benedetto Pistrucci, edge milled (Bentley 728; McDonald 240; Hill 272; S.4003). A highly attractive example with strong residual mint lustre, graded by PCGS as MS64.
