George V 1911 Proof Florin

George V (1910-36), silver Proof Florin, 1911, bare head facing left, B.M. on truncation for designer Bertram MacKennal, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS V D. G. BRITT: OMN: REX F. D. IND: IMP: rev. crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of bottom crown, denomination as legend ONE FLORIN, weight 11.28g (Bull 3756; ESC 930; S.4012). Attractively toned, mottled on reverse, practically as struck.

The abbreviated Latin legend on the obverse translates as "George V by the Grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
