George V 1911 8-coin silver proof Set in original fitted case

George V (1910-36), Proof eight silver coin Set, 1911, Coronation year, silver Halfcrown, Florin, Shilling, Sixpence and Maundy Set, all housed in original Royal Mint deluxe red case with gold block lettering (S.PS13). Attractively toned, with a few light hairlines and some spots, practically as struck, becoming rare in the UK market-place.

These silver proof sets were produced to celebrate the Coronation of King George V on 22nd June 1911, with a mintage of 2,243 sets which is over 500 less than the full "long" gold proof set. The cardboard packing case for mail out from the Mint is extremely rare!
