George V 1911 8-coin silver proof Set - Crown to Maundy Penny

George V (1910-36), Proof eight silver coin Set, 1911, Coronation year, silver Halfcrown, Florin, Shilling, Sixpence and Maundy Set, all housed in original Royal Mint octagonal dated case (S.PS13). Coins lightly hairlined, slightly uneven tone, otherwise good extremely fine or practically as struck and becoming rare in the UK market-place, with original dated case.

These silver proof sets were produced to celebrate the Coronation of King George V on 22nd June 1911, with a mintage of 2,243 sets which is over 500 less than the full "long" gold proof set.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George the Fifth by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
