George IV (1820-30), copper Penny, 1827, laureate head left, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, emblems in exergue, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIAR: REX FID: DEF: weight 19.04g (Peck 1430; S.3823). Obverse rim bruise, toned, light porosity on reverse with associated surface marks, hairline scratch on obverse and some lighter porosity, larger pit on neck, otherwise good very fine / very fine and an extremely rare date.

The Latin legend translates as on obverse "George IV, by the grace of God," and on reverse "King of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
