George IV 1826 proof Halfcrown, as issued in the proof sets, PF61

George IV (1820-30), Proof silver Halfcrown, 1826, bare head left, date below, legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIVS IV DEI GRATIA, rev. crowned helm with garnish over quartered shield of arms, incorporating the Arms of Hanover as an escutcheon, garter motto on banner below, DIEU ET MON DROIT, legend surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF: weight 14.09g (Bull 2376; Davies 192; ESC 647; S.3808). Attractively toned, just a few light hairlines, practically as struck, has been graded and slabbed by NGC as PF61.

NGC Certification 2722138-001

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George the Fourth by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "King of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
