George IV (1820-30), copper Penny, 1826, laureate head left, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, emblems in exergue, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIAR: REX FID: DEF: (Peck 1422; S.3823). Toned, a couple of darker blemishes, a hint of lustre, otherwise good extremely fine.
The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George IV, by the grace of God," and on the reverse "King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
