St George and dragon right, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue for designer and engraver Benedetto Pistrucci, raised WWP on ground line below lance for Master of the Mint William Wellesley Pole, edge milled, weight 7.90g (Bentley 952; Hill 9 R3; Bull EGC 965 R3; S.3800). Lightly toned, scuffed with surface marks both sides, fine and very rare.
Calendar year mintage 4,200,343 includes the more common second type.
