George IV (1820-30), copper Halfpenny, 1825, laureate head left, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA rev. Britannia seated right with trident and shield, emblems in exergue, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIAR: REX FID: DEF: weight 9.40g (Peck 1431; S.3824). A number of light surface marks, and a few nicks, otherwise extremely fine.
The Latin legend translates as on obverse "George IV, by the grace of God," and on reverse "King of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
